The 2010 “Make Waves @ Your Library” Teen Summer Reading Game begins on Tuesday, June 22nd. Earn a prize every time you read
a book and complete a review form. Even better, every 5 review
forms earns you a chance to win a grand prize basket of goodies!

Registration must be done in person in the children’s room of the Bronxville Library. The Teen Reading Game will conclude with the
grand prize drawing on September 1st. For game directions, review

The Teen Room of the Bronxville Public Library serves students in grades 6-12 by providing books & materials to meet their educational and recreational needs.

Fiction Books - New books every month! Both hardcover & paperbacks.

Non-Fiction Books - Ever wondered who invented toilet paper? We’ve got the book to answer!

Series Books - Alex Rider, Percy Jackson, A-List, and Gossip Girl are just a few.

Manga & Graphic Novels - Superman, Spider-Man, X-Men, Case Closed, Fruits Basket, & more.

Biographies - Learn about the stories behind the names.

DVDs - We’ve got all the newest releases!

Xbox Games - Lots of great titles to choose from.

Audiobooks & Playaways - Listen to a book instead!

Magazines - Game Informer, Anime Insider, Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone, & Seventeen Magazine.

Computer - Internet access plus Microsoft Word, Publisher, and PowerPoint.

AniManga Club

For all fans of anime and manga! Discuss favorite books, watch anime, share manga drawings, & check out manga and graphic novel materials. Club meetings are held every other month and always include a screening of a movie & free popcorn! Open to students in grades 6 & up.

Teen Advisory Board

The Teen Advisory Board are volunteers who help determine the direction the Bronxville Public Library takes in serving the teen community. Membership duties include creating and promoting programs; recommending books and movies for purchase; designing teen newsletters; and writing reviews. TAB is open to teenagers in grades 7 through 12 and is divided into middle school and high school groups.

Teen Book Groups

The teen book discussion groups are divided into two sections: Middle School Book Group for grades 6,7, and 8 and High School Book Group for grades 9, 10, 11, and 12. Students meet once a month for one hour to talk about a designated book. Copies of selected books are available three weeks in advance and can be picked up at the Children's Room reference desk. The designated book must be read prior to the meeting.

Book Buddies

Book Buddies are teens devoted to sharing their love of reading with children. Book Buddies read a selection of picture books and sing songs to young children at special evening pajama story times. Membership in Book Buddies is open to students in grades 6 and up.

Teen matinees are recently released movies for teens shown on weekday afternoons. Please observe ratings.

Special Events

The Teen Room holds special teen events once or twice a month. Past programs have included creative writing workshops, CSI murder mystery nights, macramé workshops, and themed crafts.
