The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian
by Sherman Alexie

Determined to take his future into his own hands, Junior, a budding cartoonist growing up on the Spokane Indian Reservation, leaves his troubled school on the rez to attend an all-white farm town high school where the only other Indian is the school mascot. This is the heartbreakingly funny story chronicles the contemporary adolescence of one Native American boy as he attempts to break away from the life he was destined to live.

The Teen Room of the Bronxville Public Library serves students in grades 7 through 12 by providing books, materials, and programs to meet their educational and recreational needs. Materials include fiction non-fiction, and reference books; audiobooks on CD and cassette; movies on VHS and DVD; Xbox video games; graphic novels and manga; magazines; and cliff notes. We’ve also got a number of monthly programs specifically designed for teens. The Teen Advisory Board, Talk IT Up! Book group, and Book Buddies are just a few. Additionally, special events for teens are held each month. The teen librarian, Erin Schirota, is on hand to assist teens in finding resources and materials. Our goal is to create responsible and life-long library users!
