Mayor/Board of Trustees
The Village of Bronxville is governed by a Mayor and four Trustees who are elected to serve staggered, two-year terms every March and serve without pay. The members of the Board of Trustees are charged with the power to adopt local laws that protect the health, safety, property and general welfare of Village residents and manage local affairs through the adoption of an annual budget.

The Board of Trustees meets regularly on the second Monday of each month. These meetings are open to the public and are televised live on the government access channel 74.

Village Administrator
The Village Administrator is hired by the Board of Trustees to act as the chief operating officer of the Village. The Administrator supervises the day-to-day activities and operations of the Village and oversees the enforcement of all regulations and local laws. He coordinates the personnel practices and work of all Village employees and acts as the Village Clerk.

Chief of Police
The Chief of Police oversees the management of the Police Department which is responsible for public safety and law enforcement in the Village. Our Police Department provides 24 hour safety protection, prompt and courteous service, and is trained to respond in medical emergencies, CPR and external defibrillator.

Superintendent of Public Works
The Department of Public Works is headed by a superintendent who manages the day-to-day operations of this twenty-three employee department. The DPW collects and disposes of refuse and recyclables from all residences including garden waste and leaves. It is responsible for the maintenance and repair of Village streets and infrastructure systems such as catch basins, storm drains and sanitary sewers. The Superintendent also supervises all work undertaken on public property including Village-owned parks.

Superintendent of Buildings
The Superintendent of Buildings issues construction and alteration permits, administers and enforces building and zoning regulations and issues certificates of occupancy. He is responsible for administering the New York State Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code, issuing summonses for violations to the codes when necessary. The maintenance of all Village-owned buildings is also handled by the Superintendent.

Village Treasurer
The Village Treasurer is the chief fiscal officer of the Village, responsible for all financial accounts as well as the preparation of the annual budget. He oversees the investment of Village funds, sets the tax rate, sells tax liens when appropriate and advises Village officials on all financial matters.

Village Assessor
The Village Assessor is responsible for determining a valuation on each parcel of real property in the Village for tax purposes. He maintains the tax rolls by preparing an annual assessment, making adjustments to the roll where appropriate.

Library Director
The Library Director manages the daily operation of the Bronxville Public Library and its staff members including two reference librarians and two children's librarians. Funded through Village taxes, the Library has its own Board of Trustees appointed by the Mayor.

Planning Board
The Planning Board reviews plans for development, monitors and prepares updates to the Village Master Plan every five years and grants special permit requests.

Design Review Committee
The Design Review Committee is a sub-committee of the Planning Board which reviews design aspects of the sign, site plan and other development applications before the board. Its membership is often composed of architects, engineers and designers who usually meet just prior to the Planning Board.

Zoning Board of Appeals
The Zoning Board of Appeals meets on a regular basis to consider applications for variances from the zoning ordinance.
